If everything happens as planned, this exhibition of silver gelatin prints should be inaugurated at the Gallery Daeppen on the 19th of March 2022. It will also be the opportunity to release a self-edited skate zine, with a bunch of analogue pictures that haven’t had the opportunity to get a physical form until yet. 30×30 cm, 60 pages, 40 copies crafted with love. And the next day is equinox, beginning of spring. I’m happy about this coincidence. Winter has been spent in the warmth of a darkroom, printing photographs, scanning negatives, editing zines, organizing an exhibition. Now spring out ! Celebrate and start a new season with a clear mind.  

The oldest images are from 2016, when I was starting to use a medium format camera and to practice darkroom works regularly. Which means also less and less time actually shooting. Nonetheless they’ve been a few trips since then: Paris, Marseille, Bruxelles, Sicily, but also Valparaiso and Santiago de Chile. Of course as well as some day-to-day sessions in Switzerland. 

Thanks to all the skaters who spent time and energy with me, and big shout out to all the ones that do not appear in here and that keep the scene active, the homies from Geneva and Basel, all the 48er and Gs from Zürich, the killers from Aarau, the 242 kids from Lausanne, the insane Ticinese that I never met, the fellows from Fribourg, all the girls skating in Switzerland… But also the people behind the projects in which I haven’t taken part, starting with the crazy Roadkill ’21, and all the DIY projects throughout the country.

So, it’s Spring again. May it bring you all fresh energy, muchas buenas ondas, and keep you sharing time together, hitting the streets for a few seconds footage in a video, or a few photographs in an exhibition. Or a few minutes of entertainment for those who don’t know anything about skateboard and are simply wandering around.
